I got it to work after changing the order of the sockets (and using the IP address of the interface).
I had to create the sender (publisher) socket after the subscriber socket. Lost messages
get repaired/resent now.
My current problem is that I can't get more than about 170 Round-trips between
a Windows and a Linux machine. Between two Linux systems I was able to increase the
ZMQ_RATE and get about 5000 ping-pong messages across. In the trace output I see
that the ZMQ_RATE modifies the 0DATA rate.
