[zeromq-dev] zdir loads whole heirarchy?

The API isn't very nice; I'd probably do it differently these days.
However it's shipped in a stable release so we won't break it.

Eventually we can create a new, neater class. It's worth using this
and seeing how it fits your needs, in any case.
