[zeromq-dev] EPGM vs PGM - network devices

Hi all.

Reading the manual of ZeroMQ, it seems that EPGM is a workaround for administratives privileges: it bypass RAW socket creation adding UDP encapsulation.

Does EPGM break network devices PGM support? In my understanding, in a network packet there is a 32bit offset between PGM data start address and EPGM one, due to UDP encapsulation.

As stated in section 8 of PGM IETF draft (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3208#section-8):
"All of the packet formats described in this section are transport layer headers that MUST immediately follow the network-layer header in the packet."

Actually UDP is a transport layer, and differs significantly from PGM one.

Thank you

Daniele
