Hi Guys

I ran two performance tests using epgm over ZMQ and here are the results. Anyone tried that before? I think the numbers are really high.

Hoping for some similar similar tests and ideas... I'm using a very high multicast rate for pubs and subs on both boxes.

Test 1:

1) Start timer
2) Send messages to a different machine
3) The other machines receives and publishes back the same data
4) Once all messages are received back, I stop the timer.

Result:

---------------------------------------------------------
             Performance Report
---------------------------------------------------------
 Transport:                     ZMQ
 Protocol:                      epgm
 Messages recd:           1000
 Total Time:                    222195 us
 Throughput:                    0.540066 Mbps
 Avg per msg:                   222.195 us
---------------------------------------------------------

Test 2:

1) start timer
2) send messages to a different machine
3) The other machines receives and publishes back same data
4) Once that message is received back, I stop the timer.
5) repeat 2-4 for multiple messages
6) take average

---------------------------------------------------------

             Performance Report
---------------------------------------------------------
 Transport:                     ZMQ
 Protocol:                      epgm
 Messages sent:          19
 Average / message:        168.421 us
 Max time:                      200 us
 Min time:                      160 us
