in the article, you write: "As for the relationship between throughput 
and latency, it turns out there really is a relationship; however, the 
formula involves integrals and we won't discuss it here. For more 
information, read the literature on queueing theory."

Alas, the article doesn't actually have a literature section. Would you 
please share a few pointers?
