so wait… 

that whole idea around "removing devices from zmq3" thing, is pretty much wrapped up in libzfl? no?

i'm thinking it'd be nice to split out the device stuff from the config stuff, cause even with other sockets, everyone still needs to handle config's at some point. Maybe it's as easy as libzmqcgf based off libczmq, making that and libczmq-device smaller and easier to maintain.

Then again, i'm only 3/4 way through the guide too ;) 

I think libzfl hits the nail on the head though, almost exactly what I needed to write (minus the TLS bits I need to work on). :)

I'm not suggesting someone should go fix this by any means, just thinking out-loud making sure what-ever I end up forking and contributing back makes sense the first time…
