[zeromq-dev] Mellanox VMA - an interesting library to compare withZeroMQ

I think this library is at a lower level than ZeroMQ, much like Sockets Direct Protocol on Infiniband.  You can (and we do) run ZeroMQ on SDP[1], and I suspect you could run ZeroMQ on top of VMA.
