(a) if new work comes onto master earlier, it gets tested faster and better.

Not sure if serious... any infrastructure we use has this risk. Using
git already lowers it a lot. Plus:

(a) git pull requests are not a github feature, github just adds the
workflow on top
(b) many of us already use github.com widely, because it's the best
tool for how we work
(c) in the worst case scenario, if Elop buys and kills github,
there'll be alternatives up in days...
