I think this would be very useful and we would for sure use it if available.  On the projects where we've needed the highest throughput and lowest latency, we've been forced to use an IB-aware MPI implementation.  If you were to implement 0MQ over IB verbs, it would be very nice for loosely-coupled systems requiring the highest performance instead of shoehorning the problem into the constructs provided by MPI.
