I have added Salt to the zeromq labs page:
http://www.zeromq.org/docs:labs
If you are interested in using salt I have information on the github wiki
for setting it up:
https://github.com/thatch45/salt/wiki/Setting-Up-Salt
Also, for an in depth overview of salt configuration:
https://github.com/thatch45/salt/wiki/Configuration-Guide
I have also written a high level document describing what salt is and what
the problems it seeks to solve are:
https://github.com/thatch45/salt/wiki/What-is-salt
I am currently using salt in a deployment to manage a cluster of over 50
servers. I consider salt production ready but still far from feature
complete.
Thanks again to the zeromq team, I could not have made salt without zeromq!
Please give me feedback, salt is proving to be an invaluable tool in server
management and since I have released it I have received many great ideas on
how to use salt in many scenarios. I am also putting together a presentation
on salt which will describe in much more detail how it works and what it
does, I will be presenting on salt at the Utah Python users group next month
and I hope to post a video of the presentation.
