I think 5555 is special because ports above 4096 don't require
superuser privileges, and it's an easy to remember number. Port 5560
is unassigned by IANA though may be used by random apps.

I've found a workaround in Eclipse, but I think we need to specify a
'recommended safe range' for test ports, and then use that
systematically in all examples and tests.

This needs a little thought and discussion. In the meantime feel free
to discard the patch.
