Indeed, this may be the confusion here. People seem to confuse the
core API and the HL API simply because they are both in C.
Yet they are entirely different layers. Would a diagram on the main
page make this easier?
If we can't get this discussion working for libzapi vs. libzmq, it's
going to get even harder for libzutil. And if we can't make libzutil,
then we can't sensibly move stuff like SWAP and zmq_device out of
libzmq. And if we can't do that, then the 3.0 roadmap is essentially
dead.
Mato, forgive my previous email if it was harsh in some way. The work
we're doing here is not some evil plan to hijack the 0MQ core. It is a
set of pragmatic answers to problems we're actually facing. You could
help a lot by engaging in those problems and proposing alternative
solutions if you see them.
