Maintaining x64 targets requires that whoever does that work either buy a
full version of Visual Studio, or go through a long set of complicated
steps to add the x64 stuff back into the free Express version.

In the long run I would *much prefer* having some way to generate the VS
projects from a single source, anything else is a major pain.
