Thanks Martin, please do that. We have spend quite some time on zeromq and we really don't want to switch to anything else. Let us know if you have any progress on this.

Actually, this can possibly make sense. I'll have to think about it for 
a while.

In any case, the hack to achieve the behaviour should be simple. I'll 
have a look at it when I have some spare time.
