I can't reproduce it reliably.
Are there any logging options I should turn on? I don't really want to use a debug dll cause a) I'm not great at C++ and b) I've no idea how to rebuild python.

Can you reproduce this portably using a simple Python client/server
pair like the examples in http://www.zeromq.org/docs:user-guide#toc4?
If we can reproduce it we can fix it.
