Originally it was meant as "zero broker" and "zero latency".

In the meantime it case come to meant different things: zero-copy, zero 
learning curve, zero administration, zero cost etc. etc.

I would say that at the current point it refers to the culture of 
minimalism permeating the project: Removing complexity rather than 
adding new functionality. Sometimes even adding new functionality by 
removing complexity ;)
