PRESS RELEASE — [ Europe / Economy / Technology / Open source ]

iMatix acquires FastMQ Inc., maker of "Fastest. Messaging. Ever."
========================================================================

Brussels, 30 October 2009 — Open Source firms iMatix Corporation and
FastMQ Inc. today announced the acquisition of FastMQ by iMatix for an
undisclosed sum in cash and shares. FastMQ's flagship product, ZeroMQ,
branded as the "Fastest. Messaging. Ever." will join iMatix's other
messaging products, OpenAMQ and Zyre.

iMatix CEO Pieter Hintjens explains, "we have worked closely with FastMQ
over the last two years to help make ZeroMQ the fastest, most useful
open source product for low latency. ZeroMQ fits perfectly with OpenAMQ
and Zyre. For our customers, one vendor means fewer licensing questions
and lower support costs."

ZeroMQ is used by around 160 firms, estimates FastMQ CEO Martin Sustrik,
"in everything from game servers to scientific computing to the sector
it's really meant for, financial market data." He continues, "people
appreciate how light and fast this software is. It runs on practically
every system, speaks every language, and is very, very fast."

Hintjens explains the plans with ZeroMQ: "we've just finished a 2.0
alpha, which is easier to use than ever. We'll slowly push this
towards a stable version. It's a good time for customers to let us
know what features they really need."

ZeroMQ architect Martin Sustrik remains the lead maintainer of the open
source project, and FastMQ becomes a division of iMatix Corporation.
