No need to apologise, Martin.  This applies to any FOSS project
undertaken by a business: otherwise it's impossible to re-license the
software.

There have been projects killed by uncertainty about who actually
owned the code.  The MIT license does not transfer ownership but it
gives such broad rights that it has the same effect.  For anything
more than a patch, the better way is to become a formal contributor
and sign a CAL.

With 0MQ, people get a very powerful package for free, and it's quite
normal to be willing to contribute back to that.
