No problem in publishing this, however, it would be interesting to know 
what problem are you exactly trying to solve.

Originally we've opted for GNU autotools because of the broad range of 
supported platforms (currently we are building 0MQ on Linux, Solaris, 
FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Mac OS X and QNX. Still, windows build is done 
independently via MSVC 2008 Express IDE :(
